in our tax bracket, the automatic withheld tax amount will be around 28-29%. the bonus is taxed at around 40%. i figure about 2700 monthly pay after taxes. budget accordingly.

Last I saw bonuses were taxed as regular income at the same rate as everything else. At least in California.
