I've been thinking about interning at Lehman in Public Finance, and was wondering about the importance of the group. True it's not the tech underwriting, but I still think it is a good firm. As a Junior I thought it would look good on the old resume. What is the impact if upon graduation next year, I wanted to work in IB on the private side? I know their different animals, but isn't it almost irrelevant at the intern level? Any thoughts?

Actually, I'll be interning in Lehman in the IBD this summer. Just like you, I'm a junior in college. Definitely, Lehman is a great firm. I turned down a lot of other firms for Lehman because I love the people and the culture. I think that's more important than anything else. The name will definitely look good on your resume regarding which division you work for. It all depends on what other offers you are considering. Otherwise, I would say go for Lehman!
