I am interviewing for an analyst position at 3 top 5 banks. One of the positions is with one of the banks Debt Capital Markets group.
Its a great group (seems to work a lot of deals), with great people. I have a problem though-
I'm not really sure I understand where they fall on the I-banking vs S&T sides.
From what I understand, they are something akin to a Syndicate desk, though it seems their role is a bit more involved in the actual "development" of deals.
Obviously, asking my interviewees exactly what this type pf group does would be less than impresive in an interview. Any insight anyone can provide would be much appreciated.
