In Reply To: I am a 2nd year UK undergrad and have received an invitation for a series psychometric tests in ING Barings' London HQ. I would like to know what these tests are al about. I am not too worried about the numerical one, more about the verbal reasoning one... how are the questions like? Are they simply "correcting sentences" or are they reading comprehension ones? What would happen after the tests? How is the selection procedure? I am really keen on this summer internship, so please help me! Bye!
Message: I can't speak for ING but I've sat a few of these tests in my time and the amjority are of the following format. You get a short piece of text and are asked whether statements either follow/do not follow/can't tell using only the info given. Don't worry about the tests- they're just to make sure HR don't have to waste their time interviewing any muppets. Concentrate on preparation for the interview itself.
