My understanding is that most banks won't match - they bring you in as a class and all are treated the same (reponsibility, pay, etc).
If you are good at being a banker - and you better be if you are accepting at MSDW/CSFB/GSCO or else you life is going to get really difficult soon - the $5K across the board differential will be pocket change to what you will make in yrs 3-5. Pick the bank you like, and take what they are offering. When you land some good deals and add value - then ask for your extra pay.
