Before too much investigative journalistic time is wasted, I feel the time has come for me to make a full confession. I am single-handedly responsible for recent developments resulting in Britain's exit from Investment Banking. Conscious of the impending end of my assignment here in the US, I had high hopes of switching out of industry and into investment banking. On the eve of my first serious dialogue with Schroders, I rubbed my eyes at the screen when I saw the announcement of their absorption by Citigroup. Undeterred, I swung around to focus on Flemings, and had been anticipating their response any day... In the circumstances, I hope you will understand my reluctance to reveal my latest plans...
