In Reply To: I'm from calif. and know the difference. Cal poly is primarily known as an agriculture or engineering school. UTA is much better known. The most important thing, or rather one of the most important, is the overall ranking of your school. Whether or not you majored in business or econ, or history for that matter, is all for not, if you went to a low-ranked school. Besides, many of the banks don't care about your major. Just concentrate on getting a good internship.
Message: shouldn't i major in finance though to work in either asset management or investment banking? how would i ever expect to pass an interview by knowing jacksh*t about finance?? Cal Poly SLO, though, is considered the best western STATE school....does that count for anything? does the name of a school really puts in that much weight over ones major? -thanks
