In Reply To: Do you have an Oxford BSc too?
Message: I don't think Oxford gives out BSc's. I am also curious to what MSc this guy did at LSE -- health care finance sounds pretty fishy. Anyway, I have an M.Chem (Honours) from Oxford -- the 4 year BA and M.Chem programme. I'm also an American (Cleveland). I work for an American bank here in London (FICC). First, if you don't like America fine, don't work for GS MSDW ML SSB etc, etc. Don't deal in US$ swaps, etc. Don't use American internet business models, etc. Next, admit that for all of Britain's great history, you still barely have a GDP per captia above Italy, a country which has a far more style, history, and culture. Finally, to the query about 'But what's the point if you are economically better of when you are in the middle of nowhere (now, that does not apply to Chicago, but to most other cities you mentioned).' I think most Americans who have live aboard wuold agree that they would rather live in Dallas than say Manchester or Birmingham. I for one would rather live in Cleveland than live in Leeds or Sheffield. BTW there are 50 states, not 51.
