i had some dealings with PWC Securities last fall. I believe they are based out of McLean Virginia. They had major defections because the partners weren't receiving the kind of bonuses they deserved and the client flow that PwC promised never materialized. I had been in that situation in a different field and it's true. You have these fiefdoms and nobody really wants to share clients. It silly. well anyway, PwC in UK had been doing great so the foreign partners convinced the US partners to avoid abandoning the practice. So i don't know where they stand now but, only a few months ago, it was on its last legs. if you want my opinion, you should look elsewhere. if you are looking for tech finance and smaller deals, look around. there are many. a big five is not the way to go. i'm on the corp dev side of things at a company. if you float the name to your compatriots on the street, you should get a better picture. i can guarantee that they will laugh though. pwc securities is a joke. that deal you mentioned was probably just a financial due diligence or something. that's how they justify the large number of m&a deals because they include their PwC m&a audits.
