I just graduated from a sk school, not exactly a haven for Ibanking recruiting, thus my approach. The west, I mean alberta, is booming. ALl the major banks have shops out here. Still, there are not that many anal;ysts hired relative to NYC or TO. COunt yourself very fortunate to get into one if you do. Job prospects are very promising. ALl the bank owneds are here, plus Griffiths, NBF, WDR, JPM, ML, Newcrest, Yorkton, Sprott, you name it, they are here. However, they tend to hire more MBA's than entry level. I would say the analyst positions are more competitive than in Toronto as more people are applying, and not just from the region. They also hire from outside the area, which makes for a very competitive process.
