In Reply To: Are MBA's considered for Analyst positions? I am a young MBA/MS (MIS) student graduating next year (at age 24) from a second tier school. I decided to attend b/c I was offered a full scholarship from the school and it's got a good rep as a techno-MBA. I'd like to break into the sales/trading division of a bulge bracket or major commercial/i-bank (chase, BAS, etc.) and realise I probably won't be able to do so at the Associate level because I lack experience an my school is not top-tier. Can I still be seriously considered for an analyst position? Will the MBA give me an edge in applying for this type of position? Any helpful input from current i-bankers or people who know the industry would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Message: This is a good question (I've been wondering myself). Would the pay be higher for an analyst if he had an MBA?
