Message: I am considering going back to college for a 2nd bachelor's degree, in finance. My degree now is from a lib. arts school, in a foreign language, and I have spent the last year and a half working for a big five firm. In order to be a more competitive candidate for an analyst position, I thought I may gain more consideration by Ibanks if I return to school for a year to get solid financial training, and to exhibit the desire to work in the field. I've been told by peers that a 2nd degree would be a waste, and why not go straight to Bschool? The reason is my grades weren't high enough to gain entrance to a top B school, and I haven't had the length of time working that one needs for admission. I would like to know if I am on the right track of thinking, or if I would never be considered since my work experience is not in banking?
