Wonder why people always assume that GS pays the most when it certainly does not. If you want to go with a larger bank, DLJ pays well from the associate level onwards and Bear Stearns from the get-go (Analyst level). From the boutiques Wasserstein Perella and Lazard Freres pay well but they will make you feel like you earned every $0.01. This info pertains to IBD and not S&T. In S&T, since it all depends on how much YOU trade or sell, that is what determines your pay. The S&T average of the salespeople or traders in any given bank is much less of a relevant figure than it is in the IBD group. |

You mentioned "if you want to go with a larger bank." Are you implying that some of the smaller banks pay better? If so, which ones?
