...juvenile bickering aside, I think you should be excited about the offers from DB and Chase.
DB offers a great name, and Alex Brown was a great company, before being acquired by BT, and subsequently, DB. Granted, they made several missteps with the Morgan Grenfell acquisition back then, but I think they're here to stay. They've done some of the best deals on the Street, and you can't take that away from them.
Chase has been building their investment banking business. No matter how low their reputation is, you've got to give them credit for what they've achieved the last 2 years. Granted, a lot of them were "leveraged" from their existing clients. They've shown their commitment to I-banking by acquiring Chase H&Q, and their deal flow so far has been increasing like mad. I don't think they're about finished yet either.
Just my 2 cents...
So, no matter where you go, I think you'll be fine. Good luck with your decision.
