I've got to apologize for my idiot sellside bethren here. They're dumbasses, arrogant and rude to you to boot. Remember, you'll have to deal with clowns like these in IB.
I'll assume you're going to Wasington U. Yes, AG Edwards is in town but you shouldn't forget American Century (it's not a bank, but you'll get good experience). Isn't Stifel in St. Louis too? There are a number of other buyside shops there too. Beyond that, you should consider interning at a Big 5 firm - some banks are impressed by that sort of thing, some aren't. Might be worth at try.
