Let us assume 80 hours a weeks equals 4160 hours yearly. If he grosses $50,000 annually as an analyst including bonuses etc, that translates to $12 an hour! Most plumbers make a lot more than that. If you take in consideration the cost of living index in NYC i.e. an apartment (cubicle) $1500 month etc. It is much less that $12. These are the best years of your life and you are stressing and working your ass off to put money in your bosses pocket! |

I have been reading the NYC cost of living bit from your reply with interest. Could you elaborate on that? I am relocating from the Hague/Netherlands to NYC and would like to have your feedback on what you had to budget for your living in NYC not to mention tax issues and tax shelters (income revenue, etc...). Yuur thoughts would be extremely helpful as the tax system here is completely different from the US.
Thanks for answering.
