Just wanted to send a message to clarify things. Not everyone will or should get an offer from Goldman Sachs, so get over it. Take those offers that you receive, think about the people from the firm you have met, how they have described their experiences to date, and whether there appears to be steady growth in both deal flow and revenues. Ask about the deal team size (which is important, because generally the larger the deal team, the more defined your role), ask which are the fastest growing groups at the firm, etc., etc. Do your homework, and that will give you a good basis to determine what really matters to you.
Keep in mind that there is a lot of turnover in the Street, meaning that there is a lot more movement between firms than what many of you may realize. Going to JP Morgan, or WP, or Merill, is not the end all or be all. Think about which culture, training and growth opportunities best fit your current needs, and where you have the best chance to have the best exposure, and ultimately, shine. Better to be the #1 analyst at JP Morgan, than the worst at Goldman Sachs.
