I have to agree that I'm also surprised by a DLJ recommendation. I'm sure its a marvelous place to work with very smart people, but MS & Goldman have that name brand quality which also is important. And they don't have their great reputations for nothing. When you tell people you worked at DLJ, they will assume you never got offers from Goldman or MS. I'm not saying you should base your whole decision on this, but come on--how many of you turned down Harvard because City College seemed more exciting?
As an analyst, you want to meet the best people, work on high-profile transactions, have good deal flow, and build the base of your resume. Aim first tier if you have the chance.

Come on.... Harvard to City College????
Its more like a Yale to Dartmouth. The descrepency in prestige is not that great....
It the finance world, DLJ is as good as it gets. Almost everybody I know at DLJ chose it over Morgan and Goldman. First of all it pays up 50% more than the two. And their placement track record is stellar.
