I am considering investment banking as a career possibility, but I was wondering where ex-bankers end up if their Wall Street aspirations don't pan out. Do bankers often go into general management, or are they pretty much limited to finance jobs for the rest of their career? For example, let's say I was an associate at a bank for two years, then I wanted to make a change. Would I necessarily take a huge pay cut by going into some sort of general management position in corporate America. Can bankers, after 2 years or so at the associate level, switch to strategy consulting? Thanks for any input. |
