How difficult is it for a lawyer to get into IB? I have some securities law experience and want to get out of the law firm environment. What are the best departments/firms for a lawyer to work for? Compliance or Legal seem to be the obvious answers. Thanks in advance. |

You can go to compliance... but if you have transactional experience at a big firm, you can b a banker too. Typically, you would go in as a junior associate, no matter what your experience at a law firm, but I have heard of people going in as high as VP.
