I'm focusing in on something and am looking for the highlights.
What skillsets, understandings, knowledgebase is required in IB for working in the restructuring and financial reorganizing end of corporate finance. Where should my strengths be, math and analysis of course but is that it? Is this area seen as strictly a quantitative field at the analyst and associate levels?
I'd rather just jump to managing director, but those lower rungs on the corporate ladder in IB I figure are kind of hard to avoid. So, I want to develop my ability where it will do the most good, most bang for the buck so to speak.
(I'm looking at doing the JD/MBA or JD/MM dual degree path in grad school. I've worked in the industry for 20 years doing various things, but want to hit the financial business field now.)
Thanks for any insight.
mike.
