In Reply To: If you are having problems with your current junior investment bankers, why not take a look at my resume? I not only have an MBA with an undergraduate degree in mathematics but, I can also spell. (Spelling seems to be very important to you)
Message: Sorry, but you loose. Your spelling is fine. However, I have a problem with your punctuation. You are missing a period at the end of your sentence inside the parentheses. "Pitch" books cannot have any spelling or punctuation errors. If they do, the client will notice and then the deal is off. When you're selling expertise and "attention to detail", it's the little mistakes like spelling and punctuation that undercut the image you are trying to convey to the client. In other words, there can be no tolerance for spelling or punctuation errors. You could say that I say a "zero tolerance" attitude. "Zero tolerance" is the guideline that analysts and junior bankers who work for me must adhere to or they will be gone - shipped off to someone less demanding and with less stature. To be the best you have to do quality work every day, day in and day out. No slackers need apply. Diction is another problem. Never overestimate the ability of the client to understand what you're saying if you don't enunciate your words clearly. Beleive it or not, there are people who can't enunciate clearly enough to be in front of the client. Beyond the "pitch" book, all other documentation must be without error. So, suffice it to say, not only must you be bright, hard-working, and have tremendous stamina, but you must also be without fault when it comes to "attention to detail". Work on the latter and you just might make it. You have the quantitative and finance background.
