I wonder if IBankers speak different languages. I come from the middle of nowhere, Hungary, just finished my undergraduate in Austria, Vienna ( beyond nowhere ) speak 4 languages fluently, have solid Equity Research experience just from interns covering Eastern Europe-Emerging Markets(CFA level I) and want to work where money talks. Do you ( recruiters in top tier IB ) care??? or do you just have american WASP on board, what would recommend to post my application in a wastebin. |

Unfortunately for you English is the language in which you will be measured. Being perfect in English and not speaking a word of any other language will be more useful than speaking good, but not great English and being fluent in 20 other languages. Your use of "what" instead of "who" in the last sentence of your message would be enough for me to know that your English is not good enough and I would can your CV. If you really want a job in Investment Banking the best advice I can give you is to forget everything else and take an intensive English course.
