In Reply To: What all exactly is inquired into in a background check. Please list everything you know or can remember from your personal experiences and list the brokerage firm too.
Message: I would like to know what I-banks view as an unacceptable past. I made one mistake and have one misdameanor conviction on my record. I have a pretty strong resume and have a few connections in some bulge brackets firms. Are my chances totally wrecked? Do I have any hope of getting an offer, and are there any firms which do not do background checks or do they all do them? Will interviewers ask about my criminal past in an interview? I assume that if I admit to my past I will definately get axed. What happens if I try to hide it. What are my other career options in finance? I hadn't really thought about this but now I'm getting worried. Need advice.
