I am going to a business school and plan to quit on my current employer. During the B-school summer after the first year I want to apply for an associate position at leading investment banks. Could insiders please tell me if I will have to have recommendation letters from my current employer to show to investment banks during/after the recruiting process? I do not know if I have to ask my current employer for a recommendation letter.
