My former boss is saying bad things |

My last employer was in the entertainment industry, he was everything that the entertainment industry is infamous for down to the cocain and hookers. I left abruptly when things became too much. Now when recruiters check my past employers he is saying VERY negative things about me. I did my job very well. What can I do? This is holding me back from future employement.
Help!
