I have been in the position of hiring for a long time - and now i am in the "hi-tech" world - everyone here wears Jeans also - but me and the CEO - damn - but i still expect an applicant to show up dressed very well.
For a second interview i could deal with dress slacks and a polo - but NEVER jeans.
