After my final interview for my current job I did not hear anything for a week. At which point I contacted the hiring manager once a week by E-mail mostly to give additional reasons why I should be hired, along with asking for a timeframe for a decision. I was careful not to be a nusiance or become angry. By the second week, I had heard nothing and I was convinced I did not have the job, but I persevered. The third week I got a job offer. I agree it does not look good when you haven't heard after 2 weeks, but all it really means is that they honestly have not made a decision, for whatever reason. If you really want this job, be patient and keep in touch, but don't pester. Make your case. You still have a chance until you get a rejection. |
