In Reply To: As a current INROADS participant and an SEO hopeful from a top 10 school, I would say that the INROADS program as a whole is quite reputable, though it varies in quality from branch to branch. Much like SEO places its interns within NYC, INROADS has local branches that place their respective interns within local companies (ex. INROADS Oregon places at NIke, Seattle places at Deloitte Consulting, etc.). There are only 2 differences between INROADS and SEO. 1. INROADS is much easier to get into (although it still requires an interview and an application). However, unlike SEO, getting accepted into the INROADS talent pool does not guarantee an internship. It merely guarantees that your local branch will distribute your resume to participating companies. Essentially, this means that you are competing against other INROADS interns for actual placement at companies. This year at my branch, about half of the talent pool participants managed to land internships. Once you land an internship, however, there are various INROADS workshops that take place during the summer. 2. You inform your local branch of what types of industries you are interested in AFTER you are accepted into the talent pool (SEO requires you to apply for one program). This can be advantageous for those who have various career interests (ex. split between consulting and I banking). But keep in mind that you are not guaranteed an internship after getting into the talent pool. Hope this info helps.
Message: I applied to inroads, but i didn't follow through with all the paperwork..because the nearest branch to me was in ATL and I'm in school in Mobile, Al..long way. But my question to you is.... what's SEO? thanks
