INTERNSHIPS/ CO-OPS for Fall and Spring |

I am in an interesting career transition. I started my MBA program as a part-time evening student, while working an agressive job on Capitol Hill. The hours were brutal and in May I decided that I need to move on, finish up the MBA and get on to the new career. I am accelerating my degree, so instead of Summer 2009, I am not projected to finish in Fall (December) 2008.
Making a transition from government to the private sector, I would like the time that I spend to have a meaningful impact on my resume, and I was thinking about an internship, part-time work or a CO-OP for the Fall and the Spring. I am also gearing up for a Summer Internship. The problem I seem to be running into... I can't find much information on PAID Internships for the Fall and Spring. IBM has a CO-OP program ( I am looking to become a Management Consultant), but it is not clear how that process works.
Any advice?
