I currently work for a Big Five accounting firm doing litigation consulting and valuation work. In addition, I have an MBA from a top program and was a finance and accounting major from a top undegrad program.
I've been trying to join a high tech firm (either a start-up or someone already established like Cisco, Broadvision, etc.) as a financial analyst but haven't had any luck. It seems that to be considered for such a position, you already have to have been a financial analyst at a major/Fortune 100 company. I have the accounting and finance knowledge to do the job without any problem, but the haven't been able to even get interviews simply because I have not had the title "financial analyst".
Is this true? Does anyone have any advice? |

You should be able to make the jump easily. Tech companies are desperate for finance people and working for a Big Five is a solid background.
Some may think it a bit "dorkie" but you should be able to sell your analysis skills.
