I'm a college senior now, weighing post-grad options. One of my offers is with an E-consulting firm, in the same range as Scient, Viant, Sapient, Zefer, etc. At this point, I'm interested in getting my MBA a little down the road, and I'm curious how the work experience at one of these firms is viewed by business schools. Any help would be appreciated. |

It may be different in 3-5 years but right now the e-consulting companies you mentioned are growing at incredible rates. Their growth is limited only by the number of people (with experience) they can bring on board. I would say you will work extremely hard and gain a tremendous amount of experience at any of the firms you mentioned.
Your ability to attend a top level MBA program will be limited only by the quality of the work you've performed and your previous college record, not by which e-consulting company you work for.
The question is, how easy will it be for you to take the time off to go back to school once you're in that life. In a consulting company it is very difficult to attend a PT MBA program, just from the sheer demands on your time and the amount of time on the road. You'll also find yourself weighing the choice to join one of the e-commerce start-ups vs. getting your MBA. If you check out the news, a fair number of MBA students (perhaps 10%) are opting to take a leave of absence from their program in order to take advantage of today's opportunities.
