Thanks very much for the advice that has been posted on this topic. However, what I was really trying to get a sense of was the reputation that E-consulting firms have in terms of getting their people into good business schools. Would I be better off going to an investment bank for a couple years? Or would the relatively more unique experience at an E-consultancy like Scient, Viant, Zefer, etc. be a better choice? It's definitely not the most important thing I'm considering about each of my job offers, but it is a concern. |

Friend, forget about investment banking. MBAs from traditional fields like investment banking are running for the exits towards e-consulting. They recognize that the world is turning upside down and that old-line businesses are unprepared to deal with the Internet economy. I can imagine that most MBA programs would highly value e-consulting experience because they are desparately trying to redefine themselves and remain relevant to the new economy. Avoid any business school that doesn't value experience like that found in your potential position because it is certainly headed down the ranking ladder.
