Experienced new media developer but just graduated... need help |

Hi,
It looks like there are a lot of helpful people here. Nice to see that during a time when the market is this bad.
Im a web developer.. ive made applications primarily with Macromedia Flash and Php/Asp/Perl. Ive also used a lot of Java for Servlets and Jsp. I started doing free lance web work 3 years ago and have won an award, done presentations and contributed to a book on macromedia Flash. I primarilly like to make applications.. whether its Flash or Java or anything else.
Unfortunately i havent been able to find a job as yet. I just graduated and when the recruiters and companies i contacted hear this they simply tell my there have no positions for entry level developers.
But i feel i do have some experience although i just graduated. In a way, i feel cheated out of all the hard work i put in.
Any advice you guys give me would be really appreciated.
Im looking for work as a Web Application Developer in New York city and am open to relocation to New Jersey, Washington D.C., Philidelphia or a nearby area.
