In Reply To: Here's a serious question... I have contacts at imploding web consultancies & I don't know whether to get in touch with them or not... it's not like my company is hiring so I can't offer any kind of assistance that way. But I feel like it's rude not to at least send some kind of note but what do I say? "Gee, I hope you haven't been laid off - YET" Or maybe I'm just fascinated by all these car wrecks & want to get the inside scoop...
Message: You do not have to offer jobs, but you should make sure they have your contact info before their workplace e-mail is cut off. Ask them to give you contact info and to stay in touch. There is no crime in networking - you may come upon an opportunity that you can pass along, when things get better you may have great prospective employees or clients.
