Well, here's how I heard it:
We have plenty of money. $3.7 million, in fact.
VCs are lining up to give us MORE money.
But you have to take three weeks of unpaid vacation in the next five months.
These are blatantly contradictory, and the people who can afford it the least are the people who will be affected the most: the ones who were suckered in with promises of opportunity and longevity in the very company that's screwing them.
Maybe some execs should take pay cuts. They're the ones with the built-in severance packages and the big salaries.
Advice? Steal anything you can get your hands on.
