Traditionally, journalists have suffered everything from low salaries to boring tedious jobs that they don't want but need if they ever want they chance to become a Dan Rather or Tom Brokaw. When dot-coms came along, I thougt free at last! Finally even journalists can get decent salary, be the master of their work and still have the change to get rich(stock options). But I think it's becoming clear, freedom is oh so far away. You might not want your desk job at the local newspaper, but at the least you know it's going to stick around. I think it's time for us journalists to treck our way back to our desks and find our niche in the news world in the good old fashioned way.
