OK, here is the deal:
I am a Georgetown undergrad class of '91, Columbia MA '95 and Cornell JD '97. At Cornell I was on Law Review so after graduation I went to work for top notch white shoe law firms as a litigation associate in New York. 3 years have passed and I realized that I find the Internet and the "new economy" infinately more interesting and engaging than corporate litigation.
My dilemma: there seems to be no way to make the transition from my current law firm environment to a dotcom. I see myself most qualified starting out in Business Development or Corporate Strategy but, as I said, I do not even get a callback from dotcoms.
Question: Is my perception correct or am I looking in all the wrong places? (I only looked in New York so far). Any input/strategy advice would be greatly appreaciated!
Thanks

Dear hildirme,
If this is a goal which you have set for yourself, then do not let others tell you that you can't do it. Of course it is possible. You have to find the way in the transition. Your capabilities and experience are valuable. It is a question of finding the opportunity to move in the direction you want.
