I think that pricleline, a great idea, is just another case of a company branching out too fast for its own good. airline tickets? great idea. hotel rooms? brilliant. groceries and gas? get real. who's going to buy that on the internet? especially with webvan and kozmo (here in nyc). |

Look. Priceline is only as good as the industries that it services. While the idea is good, in principle, in reality it willnever work. Sure, when a bunch of airlines are competing with each other with low prices, fine, they'll accept a priceline bid. But with airline fuel and other costs piling up, no airline is going to go to the bargain basement? Why are they going to take a bid of 200 bucks when all their flights are filled? Simple question of supply and demand! So yeah, unfortunately, i think priceline is really really dead. It's too much of a hassle. When things are good, it's a great service, but, like now, when things aren't so good, priceline is worthless.
