Intern- 2nd phone interviews are typically more technical..First is just to cover the basics, make sure you are interested etc. Likely with someone not very Senior. The 2nd will most likely be hiring manager or hiring team member with yes/no power. Be sure you are technically prepared. Behavioral questions are used as well so look into getting good prep at school for this type.
FLying in- FOlks who fly in are either being hosted by one group, in which case the IVs are total control of that group but normally are only Friday. More common is to attend a hiring event or "rush" where several groups are hiring. Interview is only Friday, but activity Friday night is held. Managers may watch you to see how you interact with others, but this is not a formal part of the Interview. Normally Sat. and Sun are reserved for the candidates to preview the work area- look at houses, get a feel for the city, etc. |
