I was recently hired by Intel-and when the initial offer was made I suggested a bit higher base and a few more stock options-no dice. The reason I was given is that they are hiring so many people now-not sure what this has to do with it. Relocation money is pretty much set in stone-based on mileage and number of family members, stock options may be negotiable, vacation time is set and isn't negotiable, bonuses are based on a percentage and not negotiable-you've got to get your base salary as high as possible because everything ties into it later. Good luck-and don't be afraid to ask for a reasonable amount over the intial offer-you will most likely have to wait 24 hours for them to call you back. They were straight with me-I have no complaints so far. |

I was hired recently to Intel , i did try to negotiate but it seems offers are cast in stone
& goverened by policies .They did say that if i am willing to wait they will consider me for another job later on. Since i was keen to join I accepted the initial offer.
