I'm a 24 year old Exchange admin. I have a BS in Computer Science and minors in business and telecommunications as well as MCP working on my MCSE. Two years ago I got an intership to support network operations, I loved so much doing this type of job, but now that i'm a full timer I don't get to do the networking operations, not even what my title implies due to politics in my company.
Instead, I do miscellaneous type of projects.
Lately, I have been browsing to find a junior network administration job in any major metropolitan area to start my career with what i like.
Some people are skeptical about my success in the IT field, even though i have succesfully implemented all my skills. Many of my female college friends who graduate with an IT degree are working in sales and other fields.
Even though I love IT, I don't seem to find a position that will secure my future. That's why I have been thinking serioulsy in changing careers to finance.
Can anyone give me some advice on how women in IT can have a successful career. And what type of jobs would a succesful woman will be holding when she is like in her 30's and 40's??????
Would i be better of changing to finance????
Also, do you of any company who is hiring jr network admins???
