The main benefit of shipping software development to Indian firms such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Nambiar explains, is that U.S. companies can cut information technology costs by as much as 50 percent.
Using low-cost offshore labor isn't unique to manufacturers. And overseas workers aren't just making sneakers or stitching clothing.
Companies across the Twin Cities area have discovered one antidote to an expensive U.S. high-tech labor force: Going offshore. The strategy also has the added benefit of around-the-clock operations because as the work day ends in Minnesota, it's just beginning in India.??
