I immigrated to US from China 2 years ago, since then I have been looking for IT job but nothing happened. I got all kind of excuses. First they told me I needed to get my green card, now they told me I am out of IT careers too long. What should I do?
I have 5 years experience on IBM mainframe, with strong skills on COBOL, CICS, VSAM, DB2 and JCL. I love to the chance to use my skills again. Is there any way that I can get back IT?
Please help me.

you know, professional skills may help. what i've noticed generally about people from overseas are that they are extremely brilliant but have absolutely no social or professional skills. perhaps you should look into improving yourself in other areas (not just your technical expertise) to secure an IT job. i'm not attacking or stereotyping you, i'm just telling you the truth. good luck.
