I try to use one of the methods you suggested - contact a person I know. However, the result does not look good. Most of these people just don't bother to response(I am from a top u and have lots of alumni contact). I understand it is a matter of personal charm. Does anyone have experience of getting a job in this way? What is the best way to get them response and eventually get a job? |

If you have a lot of alumini contact, did you tell them that you are interested to get into the field and ask for their advice? Of course, tell them about yourself and forward a copy of resume to them. Also, how about contact the alumini office rep in HK (if you are moving there)? You can find the contact from your school or one of the AMCHAM publication, I believe it is "Returning to Hong Kong" (or similar title). Also, try the other methods I suggested.
