What are people's thoughts on the Chase acquisition of JF? Will new firm be as independent as Chase H&Q is currently? |

JF, like Ham. Quist, is a great bank. Chase will want to protect that. I'm guessing that the U.S. side will remain Chase H&Q. The emerging markets will probably be called something like Chase Flemming. I would expect them to do a little bit of consolidation- mostly on the s&T side, but since Chase isn't big in corp fin yet, that side of the firm should remain largely intact. I think it was a great buy on the part of Chase.
