Hi,
I'm graduating from college this May (in the States) and I'll start working in HK as a 1st year analyst at JPM this summer. I have some questions about working in HK and the ibanking business in Asia:
1)The people who start as analysts in Asia, do they usually stay in Asia after the analyst program or transfer back to the states? How easy is it to request a transfer if one starts in Asia?
2)How is JPM regarded in HK? I know it's not considered as bb in HK, but in the areas of M&A and financial institutions, is JPM gaining respect?
3) Is fluency in Cantonese/Mandarin a substantial advantage? How often is Chinese used in China/HK deals?
4) Housing---how much is the rent for a 1-bedroom apt near Central?
Any advice on the above topics would be greatly appreciated.
