Hi,
I am a lawyer planning to enter finance. I plan to go into investment banking or asset management.
To get qualified, I am loooking at looking at the CFA and Macquarie University's Master of Applied Finance.
The CFA is more investment-centric, whereas the Master is wider and covers both investment and corporate finance.
Which should I go for?

I'd firstly consider where you want to go and what you want to do...
If you see yourself in the US in the medium term or wish to join an investment bank (1st tier) i would go for the CFA.
By the same token, in Australia, the Masters course is well regarded as a better alternative to SIA and flexible.
I'm currently doing the CFA and i honestly think it helped me get into the IB i'm in today...
either way it's a win-win...good luck!
