In Reply To: Dear Friend. If you've made to the forum, you're in pretty good shape. It's a 50/50 chance from now on. Regarding the SLP and HD itself, I'd think twice, maybe three times before joining. After your first few months, maybe the first year, you may find that the work as a retail manager at HD stores is quite unhealthy, dirty, messy and very low level. In fact, it's a step back in terms of career for the most part, in case you have good schooling and prior business experience. In the end, you may also find that you ended up with no personal life to top it off (due to the brutal schedule) and you will feel trapped in that industry by then. Good luck to you. SLP
Message: The whole SLP concept is nuts. To think a company would take advantage of the economic declines after 2000 and 2001 and want to sweep up the layoffs and recent grads is concerning. A company who has banked success with growth from within. This company is paying for degrees not skills. As a parent if I pay for six years of education for my child, I'll be damned if he/she ends up as a retail store manager like my Army buddy with a HS education.
