I burned those da** union cards when I got a real job.
And BS on that "Post-9/11 world" crap. Seems to me that Southwest managed to weather the storm as well as any company -- mainly because they were healthy before 9/11 -- and they were healthy because they weren't bound to ridiculous union contracts and pension requirements that the legacy carriers had.
Newsflash: The automakers are shedding their retirement benefits as fast as they can.
So now name me one company / industry that has prospered because of a partnership with a union. Furthermore, name me one competitor (even just a plain old call center operation) that is unionized. |
